Panamá se caracteriza por poseer abundantes recursos minerales debido a su emplazamiento geológico. Existen diversos yacimientos ya evaluados y conocidos que definen un enorme potencial en depósitos minerales de oro y cobre principalmente y se han descubierto últimamente interesantes prospectos de minerales no metálicos como las zeolitas.
